Lockout Hubs on 2500 AM differential
I would love to be able to unlock the front axles on mine. The mileage would increase at least enough to justify the lock out hubs. The only real reservation I would have would be the construction material-----no plastic!!!!!!, top quality sealing, aircraft grade aluminum for the housings and steel for the gears
I would love lock out hubs, but the quality has to be thier, on previous F-150's, a 1995 mud. rocks had a tendancy to get wedged into the plastic dails, and I broke a few trying to lock/unlock the hubs, I'm not a hard core off roader, so I don't miss the lock out hubs, but I would trust them more than the electrics.
Front lock out hubs are on my list of "must do's". I'm just trying to get past the price, about $1800. Dynatrac makes the kits. All top quality parts. http://www.dynatrac.com/products_freespin_dodge.html
I was unaware of anyone making a kit for this application. I am designing one very simular, in components, to Dynatrac's style. (with 35 spline outters, etc.) The quantity of buyers would be the focal point of pricing. I still believe the kits , with good components, would be between $600.~ and $1,000.~. I will continue my design and prototype components. If anyone is interested in more information or wanting to comment, e-mail to info@westracingproducts.com
