Default Got the 4.10's in...

Just got the 4.10 gears put in today. Cant beleive the difference in the truck, night and day. One thing I wanted to add, if you are going to do a gear swap, take it to a pro and have it done. My friend is a mechanic, and have a mechanic do it is the only way. With out some off his tools, I could see a gear swap being a nightmare. Anyway, I will post later after some miles and report how the 4.10's are doing.

Let us know how much top end you lose. I have really been thinking of upgradeing to 4.10's but I have not any feedback in regards to a swap. Please let us know I wouild love to hear your input.

Do a search and you will find tons of info and feedback. I've done it, Airram has done it, GreenJeepsRule has done it as well as others and we all have said on here how beneficial it is. We went to 4:56's though....

Even with 4.56's you'll still beary the speedo needle. Your topspeed with 4.56's will be around 140-160mph.

Went for a drive today.. 4.10s are perfect for me. Wont shift down on anything, and they had no effect of the top end. It will go just as fast as before, it just gets there a lot faster. I love the new gears, should be every 3 gen rams first upgrade.

Got them from Semo03HemiRam. Great guy to deal with and great price. I had 3.55's before and the 4.10s are way better.

Ok. Here's my unanswered question with 4.10's and 4.56's. I drove 200 miles last night to get home from drill weekend and at 65 MPH, I was at about 2K RPM on flat road. What do these gears do to your highway MPG and things of that nature?

Before my 4.10s I was getting about 17 on the highway driving very careful at 65mph. After my gear swap driving the same I got about 16.8. The difference could have been me and most likley was. The gear swap will have near zero effect on your MPG. I would not go back to 3.55s if you paid me, the 4.10s are way better. Not to mention with the 4.10s there isnt a hill steep enough to make the hemi downshift anymore.
