03 ram brake job.....
I'm gonna do a brake job on my truck this weekend... I have all new rotors and pads, all the chemicals and all that stuff... is there any special tools or anything needed to do the job? I know that some of the older stuff (like a 1993 for example) needed a special socket for the front hub.. is any of that needed for a 2003 1500 4x4?
If so, please let me know. Thanks!

Nah....no special tools or nyting...............just patience.
Remember to use the old pads against the caliper pots to squeez the pots back in using a G clamp.
Oh, and unscrew the top of your brake resovouis to allow the fluid to expand. Wrap some cloths around it to stop the fluid spilling all over your engine bay etc.
Keep an eye on this barke fluid level and you should be OK.

Be careful retracting the pistons back into the calipers, the rubber dust boot on the piston will balloon out and you will pinch it, you just need to pull the edge of the boot to let the air out.
maybe someone in here can answer my simple question ...

any size that fits into the caliper will work

well yea i kind of figured that ... just wondering if i need to go buy another clamp before i tear into my truck ... not sure if the one i have now will fit ... was hoping someone could say oh yea i used an 4 inch c-clamp or whatever
OK,just went to the shop and checked the tool box,The one I use is a 5 in,but a 4 or 3 in would work as well. The 5 in gives me a bit more leverage, dont have to crank as hard as a smaller clamp.Thats about as simple as it gets. GOOD LUCK!
