Default cat-back for a 4.7 1500 QCab??

Could someone please suggest an exhaust system for an 03 4.7 1500 Quad cab?
I do not want dual, want it to appear stock (as in where it exits), and want it to sound, well, just like everyone else...loud, deap, throaty, but not wake my neighbors when I leave for work. Also, what might I expect to pay for parts and installation? I already did the intake, so I want to do the exhaust soon. Thanks.

If you are wanting to keep the stock look you could simply change out the muffler shouldn't be much over $100 US installed. As far as the sound, I think thats all personal preference. I'm looking at a flowmaster 50 series, either the big block or SUV. Most muffler manufacturers have sound clips on the site so you can see about what it will sound like.

I would get some magnaflows. I like mine and you dont have to get duals, you can get a side exit.

So as long as I decide on what sound I like from whichever manufacturer, I can pretty much just swap out the muffler? I just dont want to buy something online or go to somebody's shop and have no idea what I am talking about. Is 3" in/out what I should use on a 4.7? does it really matter?

I would decide what you want, then call around to the local shops. For some reason the local shops have been giving me better prices than I can find online. Of course, that gives you someone to go see if you have problems with the muffler, but if you are confident that you can cut out your muffler and weld one in its place then I say go for it. I do believe the 4.7 has a 3 inch intake and output stock, but you might want to look at yours to make sure. I'm also not sure one what hole location you need (center or offset).

Dynomax has a clip of a 4.7 Durango on their site, doesn't tell you what muffler but I really like the sound. I'm guessing its the welded performance model, as thats what they list for the 4.7 Ram.

i was looking to do the ehxuats on my 06 ram QC. i also have the 4.7.... i got a price of $400 for magnaflow muffler and two chrome tips with all custom mandrel bent tubing from muffler back to tips...and have exit just after the rear two tires out to teh side. thats teh cheapest i found. im planning on doing it oson. better than buying a whole system fpr $500+ and then having to bring it to a shop to weld it anyways. try calling a local custom exhaust shop cheaper to go custom with there own bent tubing with whatever muff and tips you want.

I put a Mangnaflow catback on my truck (3" single in 3" single out from the Y-pipe down). Cost me about $240.00 w/ 3-1/2" chrome tip.
I think it sounds great. I have a Flowmaster on my 02 durango and to me it just seems to resonate in the cab too much so I didn't want to chance it. The Magnaflow sounds nice and throaty at low rpms or when punching it, where on the freeway or @ high constant speeds it's barley noticable. I'd go Magnaflow.
