Default RE: Jeep with HEMI...

Just traded in my 2004 truck in so that my wife could drive a 2006 JGC Overland edition. It does have the Hemi and it flat out hauls some serious ****. I had the Hemi in my truck, but there is no comparison. It is super quiet, rides nicely, and is quick. I also tow my 2 Waverunners with it without a problem (about 2200# total), although, I still prefered my truck for towing.

Just be forewarned that if you are tall, front seat headroom may be lacking with the sunroof. The Nav works great, as well as the rear vehicle entertainment system (VES). Currently my wife is getting 15-16 mpg because she can't keep her foot out of it. I usually get about 16 in the city and 19-20 on the highway. I've seen as high as 24 on the MPG function when traveling at 60mph for 2 hours. It has been spot on as far as gas mileage goes when checked against pen and paper.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Yes, it is basically the same 5.7 liter HEMI V8, hp might be 335 instead of 345 but im not sure and you definatly wouldnt notice that.

They look different yes, they look more like a FAST jeep than a regular jeep. I personally love the look of them and the difference is, they have the 6.1 litre hemi with 420hp. same motor as the motor in the srt-8 charger and chrysler 300. I have also seen them run mid 13's in the quarter.....boy are they sweet.

Yes, the SRT-8 is the way to go if you have the extra $$ for it and the gas it likes to guzzle. We were looking at both and decided to go with the Overland since it had the Nav and DVD as opposed to the nonNav and nonDVD SRT-8 even though the SRT-8 was cheaper (it was the "base" SRT-8). They could have added it though, but I felt with my wife's lead foot, the regular Hemi was fine, plus it has the MDS.

The Hemi produces 330hp and 375ft/lbs torque in the JGC.
