4.7 with manual shift is overheating at highway speeds
My Ram 2003 1500 w/ 4.7 4wd with with stick shift is overheating after driving about 15 miles on the highway at 70 mph. The temperature gage will climb until it nearly pegs the hot side and then bell rings then the light comes on. If I slow down to 60 it will start to cool down a bit and the light goes off.
I had the thermostat changed and replaced the coolant. Still have the problem.
Any of you guys have the same problem and how did you fix it?
Thanks for your help.

RE: 4.7 with manual shift is overheating at highway speeds
Have you made sure that it is topped off? I know that when I do a coolant change, it takes a couple of days for me to get it topped completely off.
If not that, did you use a flushing agent when you changed the coolant? Did you use a compatible coolant? Any signs of rust, sludge, etc when you chaned it the first time? Was it overheating before?
To me, it sounds like low coolant.
