Another Hemi Stall question
I did a search on why the Hemi tends to stall in different situations. All the results I came up with do not even come close to my situation. All the others say it happens at low speeds, or on a cold start up. Mine has only happened 3 times in the 1.5 years I've owned the truck. Each time it happens, I'm horsing around, like doing a donut on a wet parking lot. Which is what happened this weekend. The 2 previous times I was wheeling in a snow covered field, just making a turn... Yes, my tank was near FULL. I know the first thing everyone thinks of is "Did the fuel slosh to one side of the tank, causing the pump to cavitate?" Nope, it was near FULL each time it happened. Anyone else have the stall happen at High RPM's? The only thing I could think of was either a glitch in the electronic throttle, or the PCM saw some kind of abuse code, causing the engine to shut down. Each time it starts right back up, so its no big deal, just wondering if I can pin point the root cause.
wow i thought i was the only one that happened to. I was whipping around a court quick to turn around and my outside wheel cut looks pretty bad and then truck just shut down, it has to be some kinda fail safe code. And yes my tank was like half full aswell. I'd try talking to somebody at a dealership maybe they would know.
I didn't even think about it happening when the throttle is released. I'll have to pay more attention the next time it happens. Thanks for the input guys.
I have an 2003 2500 hemi and the only time is has ever stalled on me is when i have been shifting from reverse to drive after backing up. But that has happened for a little of a year since I have programed it and replaced the spark plug wires with a better set of wires.
