Default Tranny Hiccup? or worse

All,

Long time reader first time poster new member kinda dude.

I have been having some hitches in my ride in the last few days. Cruising at about 70-80 with the cruise control engaged and everything else normal. No load or anything wierd and normal winds ie 10-15kts from any particular direction. I have a 40 mile commute every day on I-84 and recently I can feel what can best be described as a hiccup in my drive train as often as a dozen or so times during each ride. Its not overly excessive but it is noticeable and its no the road.

It feels as if the Tranny is for a split second kicking down a gear but it happens so fast the Tach doesn't move and my speed doesn't change. Almost like I hit a bump. I also experience it when the cruise control is not engaged.

I have so far checked the tranny fluid both cold and hot and everything seems normal. No other modifications have been made to the truck and it has low miles ~39000. At 33k I had the tranny filter fluid changed and flushed with nothing reported back to me from the dealer when they did it. I am current on all maintenance and would not consider myself a hard driver.

Any ideas on trouble shooting? I am probably going to leave it at a dealer but I am anticipating I will have to drive around with a tech until it happens and I can explain it to them real time.

Troubled,

Out!

i had similar problem with my s-10 blazer. but it turned out to be my ingnition coil going bad. heater hose was leaking water on top of the coil. would miss every once and a while. felt like the tranny slipping. fixed the water leak but still had the same problem and finally the coil crapped out. OEM coil was $80, and an MSD was $55. go figure.

Problem solved.

Got WAY worse on a particularly windy day going up a slight incline.

The previous week I had them do a Tune up at the Dealer. They miswired the second sparkplug wires to cyclinders #3 and #5. I was quite pissed.

Anyways runs great now. Thanks for the info.
