2007 tundra.....hemi guys worried????
The toyotas are great vehicals. We have a sequia, or however you spell it. However i think our next SUV will be the infiniti QX56.The sequia drivesreally nice it, and i looked at the tacoma after our accident in my ford. It is small, and doesnt have the power i need it too. I like the truck and i know a guy that just bought a 07, lifted it put 33's i think. It looks bad azz. I will try and get some pics. The whole deal is around personal preference. I would still be rolling in a ford king ranch, but we had a accident and we dont want another ford right now. I might go back to the fords in 08 w/ there new motor. Twin turbos
. Now the chevys and GMC's are not high on my list, but fords are not highon others. I drive alot and trade in my truck everyyear just about. I put about 120,000 miles on them and then trade um. All the fords I had were diesels and I only had them for service, no problems what so ever. My neighbor has a F350 PSD and his truck was struck by lighting. That really screwed some **** up, but is wasnt enough to be classified as toatled. Itfried the 2 armored suburbans he was hauling back from california.

in all honesty toyota makes a crappy truck, and as far as the titan goes my dads 6cyl 95 dakota spanked one of those on route 51 in pittsburgh, nothin to worry about , toyota makes a truck , dodge makes a monster
my dads truckspanked my 05' stratus r/t too though........

I just got out of a Titan and into a Dodge 1500 Quad Hemi. The Titan is fast and a pretty good buy. However, it is a bit "Toyish" and I really can't explain it. The Dodge is just more solid all around. Also, the Titan does NOT hold it's value. If I was to go Jap again, (and I won't), I would be a Toyota only for the resale and dependability. That being said, the Tundra has to come a long way to smoke a Titan and I'm really not sure if the 1500 is faster or not. I really don't care because my 1500 ate up trails that the Titan had a chuff on. I'm happy I have an American product. I know that Nissan and Toyota employ a ton of americans, but I feel good having the prize of the American line as I see it, Dodge.

T...T.....T....Toyota? What is this word? I am not familiar with this....."truck". Guys, dont fret, its not about whos fastest its about who's the versatile. The Titan may be faster but in 10-15 years I know who's truck will still be on the road if I were looking between a Hemi and a Titan...I'll give you a hint, it aint the Titan. Also, so what!?! It's a Tundra....it's Japanese. I mean hell, if anything its Risoto...take away all the fancy add-ins and Risoto is still just rice. Let these Japanese manufacturers think they can run with the big dogs...when it comes to barking they can do it all day. When it comes to biting....thats where we'll win.

i agree, toyota is gunna make this truck, but its not gunna be reliable, it will break down, its not a dodge... its just simple, i have hard ford and chevy guys drive my truck and they will say "wow i love dodge"
dodge is dodge and thats all it coems down too, me and my father have only owned dodge trucks and only will.
Here are some of my random thoughts induced by too much Wild Turkey, which beats the crap out of JD and also smokes that cheap *** Jim Beam which is only 70% American. [8D]
I never really understood brand loyalty. I'll always buy what I think is the most truck for my money at the time no matter what the brand.
Telling people on a forum that brand X is a turd because you beat brand x from one stoplight to another is retarded. Sorry, but there are way too many variables, mainly behind the wheel. If your 7000lb truck beat a 5000lb truck with more hp, was it the truck? Uum yeah.
I've had a few problems with almost every brand I have owned. Problems don't really bother me but the retarded people who work in most service depts do and unfortunately make the manufacturer look bad.
Asking people on brand x forum what they think about brand y is retarded and always ends up in a flame war.
OK, I'll stop drinking now and please excuse my lame attempt at humor.

You guys are funny. I am the previous owner of a 2004 Nissan Titan, I now own a 2006 Tundra Double Cab (the 7/8ths truck). My best friend has owned an 03 Tacoma, 04' titan, 05' and 06' Hemi Ram. He still has the 06'. We both had bought Titans 1 day apart. We had awaited anxiously for the first Nissan full-size pickup and the when they hit the lot, we were there to buy. Happy as bug in a rugs for our first 10k miles we were soon dissapointed with the horrible horrible fit and finish of this truck. Rattles everywhere, bad brakes, leaky rear windows, rear diffs not properly filled from the factory, sagging king cab rear doors. The titan was an awesome drivetrain built on a bad chassis with cheap interior materials. My friend soon began working at Dodge. It wasnt long before he owned an 05' Hemi Ram. He later upgraded to the 06' b/c of the newly designed interior. Neither one of us would look at a dodge before he began working there. It became clear, that new Rams were an awesome product. Everytime he drove up and we hung out, I wanted to leave the Titan parked. The fit and finish, and rattle free Ram interior made me want to light a match to my Titan. I will say this, b/c I see these Titan vs Hemi Ram acceleration posts all the time. My titan outran both of his Rams, no matter how we tried to launch or roll, from a dead stop or a rolling interestate run, my Titan pulled away. I also had a rental titan at one point that we ran against his 06 Ram, the rental Titan pulled away even harder. But who cared? I was happy my truck could beat his in somthing, b/c his Ram truely trumped my Titan everywhere else. Not to mention, when driving the Ram, it felt quicker b/c the power was placed properly in the midrange like a truck should be. The titan doesnt pull until its in the upper RPM range. We never tried it, but I assume at 6/10'ths throttle, the Ram would be quicker. My point is this, we are driving trucks not sports cars. Straightline acceleration should be far down on the list of things to look for in a truck. My new 2006 Tundra Double cab with the 282 hp 4.7 V8 would get killed by either truck, but that doesnt matter to me. The motor is silky smooth, the interior is quiet, and I have got a solid reputation for quality in this truck, not to mention they hold resale better than most other brands. You guys should be happy with your Rams, they are awesome trucks. The 2007 Tundras have yet to be proven to be great reliable trucks. So what if they are quicker if they fall apart? Dont panic. Even if the new Tundra starts winning truck of the year in every magazine out there, you guys still have great trucks. This business is all about new models, and Im sure the next generation Ram will be just as formidable an opponent in the full-size market as the current year model.

You do realize that there are new people on this forum who have not discussed this issue before, right?! You may be tired of it, and it may cause heated discussions, but its still interesting to those who are not on here all the time.
Its an ongoing issue because people are interested in it, and I for one am certainly interested in what problems other's may have had with the Dodge's/Toyota's. How do you learn anything about a model(s) if you can't discuss it and why does this sight exist if you can't? Do you want the same old people on here everyday, or do you wan't some new people so the sight can grow and you can get new input?

Yes, I do realize there are new people on the board all the time. I am notknocking anyone down for discussing this, and it is a healthy discussion to have, however, in the past it has turned into a flame war. What I am refering to are the same things being said over and over again in the same thread. I enjoy seeing new people on the board, it is great knowing the community is growing. I am in no way trying to kill the thread, but when it comes to trolls comeing in and sturrin the puddin and the regular members over-reacting and starting a flame war is something the community doesnt need.
discussing the differences between brand x, y and z can only be hit at in so many ways, after a while it gets old.
I know I'm not a regular member here, so my opinion may not mean much....but this is the Internet and I will give it, for whatever it is worth.
Come on guys, you're making me embarassed to be a Dodge owner. (I have a 2003 1500QC Hemi) Like others have mentioned, I have never understood this blind, ignorant brand loyalty that some have. I grew up around Chevy's my whole life and as a teenager I had 2 camaros, a 57 Chevy truck, and then later a 64 Chevelle, a 56 GMC, a 1990 Beretta, and a2000 Grand Prix. So you could sayI am a "die-hard Chevy man". I know my small block chevy's inside and out that's for sure. But when it came time to buy atruck in 2003, I weighed ALL the options. I go dirt biking, camping, etc...and am always having to haul lumber and other stuff to work on my house. I would have preferred to stay in my Chevy family, but because I wanted the best truck to suit my needs, I considered the F150, the Dodge, the Tundra, etc in addition to the Chevy and the GMC. And when it came down to it, I couldn't dismiss the facts. The Dodge was a better truck than all the others, at a much better price. So I bought a Dodge. It's a great truck.
But as good as the Dodge is, I recognize good things about ALL the other trucks. Why can't we all do the same? If I was to buy a truck right now, I would look real hard at a titan...perhaps with less motor. I love my Dodge, but at 12-13mpg, it's got me looking at more fuel-efficient trucks. A buddy of mine has one of the V8 Titans, and he's seeing 18mpg and his truck feels just as powerful as mine.Yeah, sure...if you wanna split hairs I'm suremy Hemihas probably got a smalledge on his Titan...but seriously...who f'ing cares? In America, we love our horsepower, and that's all well and good....but the Japanese know how to put that horsepower to use, in a fuel-efficient manner. With gas prices rising and oil eventually running out, it's something we need to think about.
Anotherthing you will find different about Titan/Tundra owners vs Dodge/Chevy/Ford owners...the american truck folks just never grew out of the "my truck has more HP than your truck" phase. Over the years, I've had my share of speeding tickets, thank you very much, and these days I drive the speed limit. One guy did mention going to the dragstrip and I say right on...I respect that. But stoplight to stoplight d*ck waving contests? I left that in high-school.
And as far as this fixation over japanese made/american assembled vs whatever else....again who cares??? If you're so concerned about it, how many of you even bother to look at the country of origin of the other products you use? The computers upon whichyou are typing these "I'm an Ammurrrrrican dammit, I drive a Dodge.." diatribes is built EXCLUSIVELY from foreign parts. Your TV's, DVD players, stereos...same. Go into a Dodge factory and look at the equipment that BUILDS the trucks. It's foreign! Dodge doesn't care about this American made thing any more than they care about the bottom line, and they will manufacture and build these things where and how it is most profitable for them. Period.
More alarming, I heard several comments ("effeminate men in their late 40's or early 50's" drive Titans/Tundras). So does that mean for us Dodge owners, trucks aresome kind of validation of our manliness? No thank you... I am just as much a man whether I'm in my big bad Hemi, or riding my bicycle to work. And I can guarantee you the guy driving that Tundra is just as much a man...he just made a different purchase decision than you. Again, it's a truck, not your manhood..and the people who have realized this are the men..."effeminate" or not. That way of thinking is just plain juvenile and indicative of somebody who is very insecure about themselves. Have some tattoos, a West Coast Choppers T-shirt, a goatee, 18" biceps, and a pit-bull while you're at it. Come on...grow up my fellow Dodge owners.
Either way, why can't we just extol the merits of each of the trucks (as many have...) and save all the closed-minded brand-loyalty. The Hemi might blow the doors off the Tundra, it might not. I could care less. I like my turck, but I think the Tundra is a cool truck too. One thing the Tundra DOES have over Dodge is classier owners.
Anyway, just the opinion of a newcomer who doesn't matter....back to your regularly-scheduled street-race challenges.
