Default Any 06 QC driveline vibration issues and absolute fixes?

I have had vibraion from the driveline since new, 2200 miles ago.
I found the DS had 3/16" deflection in the center.
The Dlr replaced it with another, it had 1/8" deflection.
It was removed checked, "rebalanced" and replaced.
*I think! a DS cannot be balanced to get rid of the deflection!
Still got vibration on a SMOOTH asphalt road at 44 to 55MPH.
Originally the vib was at 25, 38, 45. 55, 65 MPH.
All tires, (Michelin), have been checked, runout is good per the Dlr.
Anyone with this experience, please post a reply.
P.S. Are you aware that all 06 Rams have 3 Vibration dampers
attached to the frame to dampen "bed hop" when not Loaded?

I have the same problem I think. Rythmic vibration that can be felt in the seat and low matching tone to go with it.
They have ordered some exhaust weight and I take in back in next Tues. They said they would install this weight, loosten up the hangers and that "should" take care of it. We'll see.
One other thing I have noticed is that it stops if I lift off the accelerator. Step back on it and it returns.

I have an '06 QC as well. Occasionally I notice a slight vibration in my seat as well as something rhythmic that can be felt in the floorboard/pedals. It's usually between 25-35 mph. I have the 20" Rims and Goodyear tires. I've read not so great things about the goodyears, but that's out if you have michelins. What size rims do you have? I just decided I could live with mine unless it gets worse. I mean, it's an American made truck and I don't expect BMW or Mercedes quality, I just want something that will last me a long time and be as rugged as I need.

I have noticed a slight vibration too in the floorboard. It's usually between 25-35 mph and tends to go away after 40.

Tthe latest from the Dlr, I drove a new truck, a Big Horn with 20" tires though, to see if it had vibration. It did: 1-it had a tire or tires out of balance at 40 MPH, and 2-with some, "Problem vibration" at 55 MPH. could not distinquish between what caused the vib. The Dlr will exhange DSs from the new trk to my trk for me to test drive, mine, again. I encouraged the Svc Mangr to ride with me so he could feel and understand what vib. I was talking about. After shoing him at what point and feel the vib, He stated," that feels normal to me". I told him NEGATIVE!, the vib should not be there at all. I even put the trans in a lower gear to raise the eng RPM. The vib did not change. So, I know it's not exhaust vib.
The next step after "THIS", DS switch will be a call to the area rep, LOL!
My loan truck is a new RAM QC, IT HAS THE SAME VIB at the same speeds as mine did originaly, 25 thrugh 55 MPH, on the same very smooth asphalt road. Waiting now for the call...

Default Keep us posted on this.

Keep us posted on this. I too may have the same issue at 25-35mph. I thought it was the road or my 3/4 ton stiff suspension or maybe tire balance. Its not bad but I would like to get rid of it if I can. I generally dont like to take a new vehical to the dealer for minor problems. I have seen other problems come up by tinkering around trying to solve the first problem.

Hi everybody,

I have the same problem with my brand new 06 QC Hemi that I bought 2 months ago. I have been feeling very annoying vibrations between the seats, in the pedal, through the body since the very first day I picked it up. I have been back to the dealer 5 times for this and other reasons. About the vibrations, the Dlr first checked the balance of the tires, the second time changed the four tires he picked up from another new 07 QC. The third time I made a drive test with the service manager who aknowledged that there was something wrong. The only solution he could find is to try another vehicule (it had the same vibrations problem!!!) and tell me that if both trucks had vibrations, that meant that it was normal then!!!....... The same service manager (Dodge Maroone Pembroke Pines) called me the next day to tell me that he called Dodge and they told him they considered any noise or vibrations are considered as normal if they are covered when you turn on the radio!!!! what a shame...... So now I am going to call Chrysler about my anger and the kind of solutions the dealer is trying to find to solve the problem. As well the vibrations and rythmic noise come at 35 mph, but the worst is between 50 and 70 mph. After reading your posts and consulting another mechanic (not from Dodge), I definitely think it is a driveshaft issue. I am going back to my Dlr at the end the week and leave my truck there as long as they have not fixed the problem.
PS : I also have issues with the shocks (grinding and not fixed yet) and a defective computer module that had to be changed (no more ABS).....

Well and update...so far! The dealer put in a new Drive shaft from another QC and...the required recall items as well.
I drove the My truck, vibration still there at 40-60+ MPH. The Mgr was not there for my results, I'ss see talk to him Monday.
BTW, I noticed on the service report that they have: CAUSE: 02130504 AXLE Shaft- Replace (B)
159 WC
I'm not 100% sure what this is but I think they replaced an axleas well. "Don't know which one. I'll find out Monday.
I got the truk home, checked the runout on the drive shaft ,with my marker and stick, it has about 3/16" deflection with
4 counter weights for a balance act. "I still think that a bent DS cannot be made to rotate smoothly by adding weights".
Not that large of a diameter DS.
Any way! I jacked up one rear wheel at a time and checked tire runout, both have about 1/8" runout,(high spot), at one
point along the tread. I also noticed VERY MINUTE seemly cracks along the side wall just at the base of the tread.
I saw a post where one poster had cracks along the tire bead. hmmm!
I placed a chalk mark to measure each high spot length. left wheel has about 10" and the right has close to 26". There
seems to be a problem here also. We'll see!
Then the wheels were spun at diff speeds, while lifted off the ground, to detect vibration. There is at speeds from 25 to 60+ MPH.
The right tire is worse than the left. I'm looking for an "ECONOMICAL" vibration measuring meter to try and measure it
while spinning each tire again. I even spun eadh tire thru the speeds while in 2 gear to eliminate or differentiate between
engine exhaust noise/vibration. No differnce than when in drive! This Information will be shared with the service manger.
I will keep you posted
Thanks to all for your information as well. We all need some accurate resolve and speedy closure to this delimma.

My dealer told me the same thing, the vibration is consistant with other trucks. Dodge has final repair attempt in 2 weeks, so will see if they can fix it.
