Default Cleaning throttle body on 5.7

Does anyone know how to get the throttle body to open as its opened by a motor.Pulled the cover off the top of the hemi and the throttle body is clean on the outside but behind the TB it is black as heck have 37,000 miles on it now just do not want to break anything by trying to open the Tb by hand has to be some way to get it to open for cleaning, or do I have to bring it into a shop and let them clean it rathere then spraying it out myself.

I agree!!!! if you force the stepper motor, you'll damage the TB-----get the procedure for cleaning from the FSM and follow it.

you can buy throttle body cleaner spray it down with that then get a toothbrush and open the throtle body manualy then you can clean inside with the tooth brush then after that clean it out with the throttle body cleaner again and you should be good to go it may be hard to start the car after the fact of cleaning it but it will start soon enough

No, you can only open a cable operated throttle body manually. DO NOT OPEN the HEMI throttle manually. The only way to clean it is by removing the throttle body from the intake manifold.

There is 2 different engines in this topic now. Originally we were talking about the Hemi, which does not have the cable linkage on the side, but rather an enclosed box for the stepper motor. The 4.7 however has the throttle cable on the side. And yes you can use that to rev up the engine, how much and how often you do it... well thats another post, haha. But do not push the butterfly (throttle plate) open on the Hemi, otherwise you WILL damage it.
