MDS not working?
Hey all,
Yesterday I was coming home from work (2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport, 5.7L Hemi) and I noticed my MPG average had dropped to 11-12 mpg in a stretch where I easily get 20-21 mpg. I made sure to reset the average, and watched it the rest of the way home. In town, I usually get 15-16 mpg, and it was reading 8-9 mpg. The only thing I've done to it is change the oil to 5w20 Mobil 1 synthetic. Has anyone experienced this, and is there anything simple I can do to fix it? I'm mechanically inclined, and it's impossible for me to take my truck into a dealership during the week. ANY thoughts or advice would be great. Thanks!

If I were you I would drive it like that for a whole tank then do the pen and paper mileage calculator. Sounds to me like the computer may be messed up.

Anyone else have this issue?
another thing that is a factor is maybe your engine wasn't all the way warmed up. MDS depends on engine temps in some way (thats why we need to use 5w20), and I've noticed that my MDS won't engage unless it is at normal operating temps.
