Ive beat stock duramax's and PS fords. I dont run around looking for races but if someone hops at me I dont minds letting them know whats up.


The Duramax I saw at the strip was a 'work truck'. No stickers or nothing, but had the toolbox, a pair of rubber boots upside down between the cab and bed. It sounded like diesel on crack. It hauled a lot of butt for such a big truck.

 

I got beat (not by much) by my cousins GMC but my truck is pretty stock and he has 5 inch BANKS exhaust, Edge programmer, intake and some other stuff. He said with everything he should be in the area of 500+ Hp and 800 ft/lb Tq. He beat me by a cab length. With a better start I could get him.

 

From what I've experienced, the 2006 Powerstrokes are GUTLESS untill they get to 3 grand. Maybe on a lighter truck you would feel some more rip starting at 2500, but its pretty sad.

Havent had any experience with a Duramax...

 

and bye the way phatboy, if that duramax that was roastin you dodges was on propane, it would not blow out all that black smoke because black smoke is unburnt fuel and propane makes the engine burn over 90 percent of the fuel compared to the sixty some percent or whatever they naturally burn so its actually makes the engine run cleaner and isnt reall bad for it just to let you know its simple the duramax is a badass lol

 

not sure the diff, between the years in the hemi's but my 05 duramax outruns my dads 06 hemi

 

thank you superman for explaining what propane does! you would not believe the amount of people who don't know. AND people, the diesel in the dodge is CUMMINS, NOT CUMMINGS!

 

just for the record, the order of fastest diesel truck straight out of the box is chevy, ford, dodge. it will be like that all day long at the track. don't get me wrong, I am a dodge man. but the v8 diesels are just faster with a shorter stroke. the cummins will have more low end and longjevity. put programmers and other things on and the order will change

 

Well deisals are freakin fast for only around $1700. Have been in a RC 2500 CTD that has only a good $900 programmer, a $600 exhaust and a $300 intake and it run's mid 13's. He also just installed a 100shot of nitrous which he expects to bring him down to the high 12's all in a 5200pound truck.

well i just got a 04 stock hemi 1500 2 weeks ago, and my dad has a 03 stock 2500 duramax and so i raced him at a stop light and i would say we ran pretty even, i jumped off the line a bit faster and we stayed even up until 60 mph and then i backed off so i didnt get a ticket and he slowed down as well, but if you are looking to get a truck to race people and go fast you need a deisel cause the gas trucks just won't do it. but i just ordered a superchips flashpaq so when that is here i beat him even more yay.
