Default Towing

have a 2004 Ram 1500 Quad with Hemi. I need to drive 850 mile to tow an 1978 chevy 1/2 ton PU back to Houston, TX. So, can my trans take that abuse?

Shouldn't be a problem, just use the tow haul mode. I tow a 8500lbs trailer with my 1/2 ton hemi and so far so good. Good luck

No problem just when you're in the hill country (or any time you're not on level ground) turn the overdrive off.

For the distance of 850 miles I would put the “Chevy” on a properly equipped trailer. Make sure your truck has the correct class hitch and is trailer brake equipped.

As far as the tow/haul mode, keep it in that mode all of the time with the O/D off when towing. That’s what it’s made for!
