I just bought a new 06' 1500 with the 4.7 motor and was wondering what normal noises this motor makes...I cranked it up and opened the hood and noticed a slight ticking noise that seems to come from both sides of the motor....its not very loud but it is noticeable!! thanks

Most likely culpret is the injectors sequencing,each time an injector actuates it makes a slight tick.Your truck being an '06 I would say this is what your hearing,on a much older truck,it might be a valve train tick,but 4.7L's are pretty solid engines and I dont know of any other 4.7L tick problems!
