Anyone use electronic rust protection??
I just heard about this type of rust protection last night & I must say it sounds pretty impressive! The guy telling me just bought a brand new GM truck & they offered it as an option. I did a search & found this company www.ruststoponline.com Has anyone installed this type of protection?? Is it as good as it sounds? What's the best "brand" to use?

i had this on my truck......under a $100 at Canadian Tire......i believe mine is installed under the hood and in the rear tail light.....with both points coming in contact with the body
Ships have been using this kind of corrosion protection for years. Here is a pic of the last cutter I was assigned to, if you notice the circular thing, that is the primary cell. The secondary one is back aft.

Cool pic HemiLonestar!
Cunard, which part of Canada do you live? Does your area use salt? I know most of the West doesn't. What year is your truck & do you think the CT one is working good??
Is it this one? Counteract

My dealer offered it to me as a option when I bought my new 2006 Ram. I passed. I never had a rust issue with the Ram before. My last Ram I traded in had 130k and looked new. No rust at all on it and I live in the NorthEast.
My parents had the electronic rust protection on a Grand Am in upstate, NY...then I brought the car to Ohio for college. Both places use salt, and pretty liberally too. It seemed to work as I never had rust...even after a little body damage. I have never known anyone else to have ERP on their vehicle, though. If I still lived in the NE I would add it just for peace-of-mind, especially considering the relatively low cost. Besides, if the chemistry behind the whole design is accurate, theoretically it has to work.
I never heard of this before. I have a couple of questions-
1- Does your vehicle have to brand new? I have a 2002 can i still have it installed?
2- Where can i get this? How long does it take to install?
3- what is the costs?

JC Whitney sold these things years ago - I don't know if they still do or not. I've never heard of anyone that tried one, so I don't know if they work either.
