Cam question....
The main reason for the 180 thermo is decreased cool down times at the track. The other added benefit is that your system is basically operating in a closed loop system. If you notice in the morning when you go drive your truck that it has a little more pep and then when it warms up it is a little less responsive. That is because it is adding in a little bit more fuel as it is in the warm-up process. With the 180 thermo you can now have that more often. Hope that helps!!!
Helopiliot my hats off to you!! Thank you whom ever told to stear away from headers needs to be shot. Headers are by far one of the best mods for your truck. I say better than a simple throttle body spacer or a CAI. Now in conjunction with all those little do dads yes. GET THE HEADERS and don't take your truck to whom ever told you not to get them. The only reason why they might have told you that was because they did'nt want to install them for you. Look get some headers and drive happy just remember when you get them installed 1. you should really have at least and I mean least have a cat back system 2. After a few days of driving re-tighten your header bolts due to expation and contraction your bolts will loosen. 3. sit back and enjoy ohh and by the way you may even gain a few mpg. what to answer your question why don't vehicle manufacture's install them. Well the answer is your vehicle cost would really increase. So it's not really cost effective for them to do it.

I was told that long tube headers will hurt the low end torque. Is that true? Are shorty headers a better choice for someone who does a fair share of towing, or are long tubes ok for me? Thanks for the info. I'm thinking more on the lines of headers, cai, and a zex nitrous system instead of the cam right now. Maybe cam down the road. For the money, nitrous will be more bang for the buck right now.
NO NO and NO!! you do not need nitrous for towing that is a waste of money. As far as headers go for some shorty block huggers. I am running a set of Doug Thorley's with 3/8 inch flanges. I have had since I bought my baby and have had no issue's. Again please don't waste your money on a nitroious sytem. Go with headers a good exhaust reprogram your computer do the cai since everyone seems to be doing it. If you really want to get the performance out of your truck you need to goto the internals. NO FEAR BABY!!! Now if you do the cam I would suggest doing your valves also. Going from my expierence which I have done it all to my truck so far you won't be disappointed. By the way 4.56 gears help also. If you goto some turner shop and get some vinyl decals I hear they add like 15 HP to. That's a joke hehe. Anyway good luck bro I would'nt steer you wrong! pull up next to me and see. Like I say "All throttle no bottle" That's my line and you can't use it.
