Has anyone heard of the 4.7 heads having a defect or weak spot in them that makes them more prone to cracking when heated up? A friend of mine has a 2002 and both heads had to be replaced because of cracks. The shop that did the work said that their machine shop told them that this is a common problem.

 

I have been dealing with the dodge Rams since febuary 2002... never not once heard that was a problem. I have heated my heads up pritty hot one day when my lower radiator hose blew.... They heads didnt even warp... thye where fine. This is NOT a common problem, or at least I have never heard of it happening.

Thanks Air Ram that makes me feel better since I also have the 4.7 motor. I thought I would have heard something on this forum if that was actually the case.
