Hey everyone, I'm looking to get a new front bumper for my 2002 Quad Ram I just bought. I noticed the bumper I was going to buy said it doesn't fit sport models. Whats the diffrence?? I'm a Ram noobie, so I was just curious.

 

The sport models are a plastic painted bumper cover. The regular rams are chromed metal (partly). I believe there is slightly different mounting in the bumpers and that is why they aren't interchangable.

i was thinking about buying the sport bumbers and grill for my truck. what would i have to buy besides the bumber to get it to work?

 

I had a 2004 qc sport, and after I cracked the side of a bridge, I bought a 2003 2500 bumper off ebay. My original bumper was painted, and the one I bought was chrome, just had to paint the top pad. I used the original bumper brackets and it fit perfect. The only drilling I did was to install the tow hooks. The 1500 bumper brackets had 2 holes that lined up with each towhook, but since I figured on actually using them, I drilled the other 2 holes so there were 4 bolts holding each hook just like on a 2500. It was neat having the only 1500 with tow hooks. Check farther for different years, but I am pretty sure all front bumpers are interchangeable, just have to figure out which brackets to use. If you have your factory brackets and you buy a bumper that comes with brackets, you should be fine.
