I just had my '03 Ram in for inspection and all 4 ball joints were bad. This truck is driven as a commuter vehicle with no real towing or off road use. Milage was only 27, 400 miles and I was wondering if anyone else has had premature ball joint failures like I have. The auto parts store said they sell a ton of them. Thanks.

 

Sounds like a dodge to me, lol. I used to work at a dealer, and I can remember changing a lot of ball joints from solid axle trucks. It was usually the older 1500's (94-01).

 

The '03 2500 did have some problems with the ball joints going bad. I just had my oil changed yesterday and they said the pass., upper is bad. Let the fun begin. I have 43k on the truck. Once you change them out, I haven't heard of anyone having it happen soon after. BTW they want $325 to do one, lucky I got extended warrenty, so only $100 for me.
