lowering a 2005 Ram 1500 Quad Cab
I'm sure some folks have done this. In poking around it looks like the DJM is the better kit. Also, how much more does the rear drop if I put a fiberglass snug top on it? Thanks in advance for any recent experiences on the model ive mentioned above.
Just remember if you get a flip kit to have the axle perches welded to the axle. If not then you will snap a universal joint, flip your rear diff., and much worse crap. Save your self the time and get lowering leafs...trust me.
...I have a flip kit and i love mine as well...went with spindles and flip for a 2/4 drop...gettin ready to drop more by gettin coils, c-notch and then putting my stock shackle back on...
try looking at Ground Force too, i have a buddy that has a ground force kit on his truck and it rides much much better then a DJM or a belltech in my opinion...and also pretty fairly priced, dealers here by me can get the 2/4 drop to me for like $600...just my $.02 worth
I got one question that i seriously need answering, why do you guys lower FULLSIZE TRUCKS? I could see lowerin a mid size or mini truck, but its a fullsize truck, a work truck, why lower it?

If you put on the new bump stops and and new shocks or the shock extenders witht he rear leaf then it doesnt bottom out that bad at all. usually I only bottom when going over speed bumps. As far as buying a kit get ahold of Brian at www. slammed1suspensions.com. He is a great guy to deal with. he has good prices too. I used an Eibach kit i got from brian and it is a smooth ride and handles real well.
hmmm gotchas thats usually the response i get...everybody is out to get me.......well according to the dumbass i work with they are....but i guess to each his own, personally i dont like them, i think the Daytona Hemis should come with 38s and a 6 inch lift.....that would be a nice truck.....
