Toyo open country m/t's are really good and not to loud on the road. I've heard from a few people with the nitto's that they are ridiculously loud.

Own the Toyo M/T and love them. They are aggressive looking without being extremely loud.

i know some guys with buckshots and they do really good in the mud but everyone has them. nitto mud grapplers are good looking but everyone i know that has them puts them on show trucks and doesnt go mudding with em so i dont know how good they are. one of my friends has a bronco with 39.5 inch super swamper TSLs and those are by far the best in the mud that ive seen. but the drawback is a good amount of road noise and the truck vibrates really bad when turning or driving low speeds. and he does some serious offroading so for just everyonce in a while or for getting through some moderately bad stuff at the deer lease i dont think they would be the best choice unless you just really wanted them.

If you are going to really see mud a mud terrain wont do anything for you.

The only way to go is a super swamper. Ever go to a mud run? The only trucks that do anything have some form of a super swamper.

HemiBuell, you are right, if I'm really going through some seriou mud I do need some swampers. However this is also a daily driver. As much as I like the swampers, I can't afford to put a new set on every few months, I wish I could though!!!

For a mud tire that's also going to do daily driver duty, you may want to consider the BF Goodrich MT. They are very long-lasting for an MT. I used them for many years on 3 different rigs, and always got good performance and wear. Get them siped for better wet, icy, or snowy road traction. I've also heard very good things about the Trxxus MT and the Cooper Discoverer STT, but can't speak from personal experience. The ProComp MTs are decent also, but not as good as the BFG in my opinion (I've ran both). I've just started running 35" Mickey Thompson MTZs on my new Power Wagon, but haven't had them long enough to give a good review on them. Overall, I've never heard of an MT that lasts longer than the BFG. Good luck!

*edit* Oops, I just noticed in your sig that you already have BFGs, so you already know about them. Good luck anyway!

I've also heard good things about the Pro Comp MT's. They have a good tread wear for a street driven truck. My brother and stepdad have had both BFG and Pro Comp MT's, and they were happy with them. For me, just to be different, because I've never seen a truck with them, I'm going with the Mickey Thompson MTZ's in about 3 weeks. They have good reviews, for mileage and noise.

I also debated which tires I wanted.. I was going to go with the Nitto Mud Grapplers but they are very loud on the road.. The BFG are also nice, and are very quiet on the road, but my buddy has them, so I decided I would try the Toyo M/T's... They are awesome! Look much more agressive than the BFG's, and are still very quiet on the road.. I have been through some nasty stuff including sand, powder dirt, and of course mud swamps, and have not been stuck yet... A great truck needs a great tire... Choose wisely.
