Default info on gears

i have a few questions about gears. i see that some people have changed out there gears to after market ones. of course im sure for towing and racing but is there a option that will allow me to use for everyday driving. i will be getting a 05 hemi here in the next few weeks and i will be doing the super chip and the k&n. i was also wondering if there is a gear that i can change in the rear end that will give more boost on the 0-60 and while im at normal cruising speeds, but will not harm anything.
if so what's the gear and how much does something like this cost to buy and have someone install. oh yeah is there anything i will need to change in the trans or the computer when i do this, or is it just a bolt on.
thanks for the info.

I would get a set if 4.10's. I put them in my truck and it is nice, 0-60 is better, doesnt shift on hills, and still gets over 17mpg. Im not sure what it will cost because I had a buddy of mine put them in, but I got the gears, front and rear for cheap. You dont have to change anything after the gears, the speedo is automatically fixed, so its a snap. Send this guy an email about your gears and tell him that kharding sent you, he will do good for you on the gears. His email is 3rdstrike@charter.net or visit his web page at www.3rdstrike.biz Hope this helps...

..i'm running 4.56 gears and love em...they engine labors effortlessly from 0-60, or for that matter, all the way up to 140 (per my gps)....but remember, i didn't buy my gears to save gas...from 0-60 it does...above that and mileage suffers...i tow a boat frequently and it feels like its not back there at all...

Hey guys thanks for the info. I wont be thinking too much about gas as well. I wont to do it to throw just that extra little something when I hit the gas. 0-60 when I hit the gas I wont it to jump and cursing I was thinking about like passing someone, something they’re when I hit the gas I wont it to jump.
By adding these gears to the rear on a scale of one to ten how much of a difference do you think I will feel in the 0-60?
I’m also wondering will it cause the rpms to rev high at cursing speeds. I wouldn’t wont the engine to run its self to death.

You will notice a difference in the 0-60. It really throws you in your seat, and the 4.56 would be even more so. With my 4.10s my RPMs are at 2000 at 65mph. It doesnt rev at all at highway speeds. You will love it, i promise, best mod you could do to a 3rd gen ram.
