2004 Q/C 4x4.. 4.7L... My radio cuts out randomly out of the blue. It's happened a couple times in the past few weeks. No sound. Wether it's on AM/FM/CD. I turn it off, then back on.. still no sound. In fact, the only way to get the sound back, is to turn the truck off, then restart it. This has me baffled. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a remedy? Is this a job for Service Man? I'm stumped....

I had the exact problem with my 04 Ram with the Bose head unit. I took it in for warranty work and the fockers replaced it with the lower grade version of the in-dash 6 CD. I was ticked, had some words with the parts manager (who still has the 6 CDs that were in the truck) but let it go when I figured I'd install a custom system anyway.

So, my fix was to get a new head unit. It's worked fine since.

Sounds like something is shorting out and putting something into a protection mode of some sort......

 

I'll check my grounds... Maybe something got dirty or Broke... Haven't had a problem since the other day. It's so random.
