I would recommend a set of 6 1\2 or 3\4 component set for your front
run off an amp -as stated-- run your rears right off the headunit

an adapter plate is readily available or can easily be fabricated to
fit these in the factory location.

also recommend checking these out

if $$ is not an issue these are among the best out there

I wouldnt even bother amping the speakers...i dont think they are gonna blow lol...unless you listen to them on full blast...i dont, speakers are designed to be listened to at about 75% of the max volumne..and the subs will pick up all your bass needs.

6x9's in the front, 6.5's in the back. just buy the speakers with the built in tweeters.

I built a box to put on the floor in the middle by the cupholders in the back, didnt wokr out well sounded to shiity as the sub was just pounding into open air so i threw it up against the seat now it sounds fine, but, ill be needing a new box as my box was an angled one...so ill need a square one and ill just buckle it in in the middle of my back seat...no big deal to me, i can take it out if im taking 3 passengers back there...as you wouldnt be blasting the sub with a full load of ppl, not i atleast.

You can buy ones off ebay for under the back seat, but im in Canada and i dont want to pay for the massive shipping.

Dont power the fronts unless they require an amp to run than what your sterio will be putting out. And remeber just because they say (just as a refference) 300 Watt Max doesn't mean you have to have 300Watts pushing them at all times. Personally I'd go with the Amp powering the backs and leave the fronts alone specially if you are going to have any subs back there. Then again it also depends on the type of music you listen to and if you enjot the sound of the base or if you want to hear more of the music than the base.

Do you need a certain type of wire harness for 06's? Stopped by best buy today and the guy came back saying he could order one but it would cost $125 bucks[:-] Ive installed stereos in all my other vehicles and the most a wire harness ran me was $15 bucks. So if there is a certain type of harness i need for an 06 dodge ram1500 could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks alot.

yes this is correct
you need the can-bus adapter to properly install any equipment
average price for these is about $100.- retail stores are always
gouging-- so 125 is about right.
good news about this though-
all the wiring you would need for an aftermarket NAV
system will be provided by this adapter--greatly simplifying the install

generally you want your better quality speakers for your front stage
and also want more power for your front stage--these are the speakers
you should hear when listening to your music etc...
rear speakers = rear fill \ for rear passengers
