Goodyear Wrangler HP issues!
I drive an '06 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4. I bought it new, and at around 4800 miles, it started developing a vibration (I drive mostly highway) at 70+ mph. My steering wheel shakes, and I can also feel the tail end shaking. I had my wheels rotated and balanced at Big O (1200 miles before recommended), where they told me I had a "bad wheel". I took it right to my local Dodge dealer to inspect the wheels/tires, where the immediately began trying to prove me wrong. They said Big O just balanced them wrong, before they even looked at it! After losing it for a day, I picked it up and it shook ten times worse. I took it back that day, and after losing it another day they told me a "junior tech" balanced the wheels wrong and that they're sure they have it. They declined to test drive it with me.
The problem is, they test drove it on a stretch of highway that's 55mph, not 75+! This weekend, I put it up on jackstands, and let it idle in 4x4 and could physically see that all 4 tires (20" Goodyear Wrangler HP's) were out of round! They literally had 3 or 4 high spots. Anyway, I called the sales lady that sold it to me, from a different dealership with much nicer people, and they're going to exchange it for a rental car at my house tomorrow. She says the service manager has agreed to do the same test I did, and will most likely replace all 4 tires. I may demand another brand of tire.
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to see if anyone's gone through this same thing. Thanks!

Do you know how long the truck sat on the lot? I know its not flat spots, but just curious. I've had similar issues of that after rotating tires. What happens in my experience, is that the one of the rear tires has a bad belt that shifts, and when it get put on the front, you can feel it shake. Although, I'd never had that happen to all 4. Good luck on getting a different brand. If they change the tires through DCX, then your most likely going to get goodyears again... for warranty issues. I've never liked goodyears, excpet for the MT/R's.

Not that unusual. I had a set of 17's on an 02 Ram QC. One day at around 12000 mi one of the rear tires just disinigrated. Took it to a G-Y dealer who kept trying to tell me the tire was under-inflated. Now I am a pure stickler for MX and do all my own. I physically check tire pressure weekly in everything I drive. Anyway, G-Y refused to pay anything. Furthermore, since they wanted $215 for a replacement of the same tire, I told them to just remove the spare tire from the spare rim and remount it on the good wheel. They did and sent me on the way with a serious vibration. I took it to another tire dealer the next day who found the wheel and tire assembly un-balanceable. No joke, the full size spare tire that had never been run, remounted on the factory wheel was 20 ounces out of balance. Good Years SUCK!!!
