Mopar posi
Well I ran my truck for the first time on friday and i don't like the peg leg she has. Anyone have a mopar posi? What did it cost and what did it cost to have it installed? where did you get it? How do you like it? any 1/4 times before and after th posi was installed? did it really make a good difference?
some time in the past month somebody else brought up getting the mopar posi, so a search for that might help you. (i think the thread title called it an lsd). I'll tell you the same thing I told that guy. I have the mopar posi, and it works well. However, there are cases of some clips breaking on them, possibly causing rear end damage. I've heard from many dodge owners that an Auburn posi is the way to go, however the Auburn wouldn't be covered under your warranty like the mopar one. The gears would be covered, just not the posi. The auburn is supposed to perform better than the mopar. (not talking from experience, just hearsay). That post I mentioned earlier had some price quotes for install and such as well. actually here's the link https://dodgeforum.com/m_604588/tm.htm

I bought my 05 4x4 and it did not come with the LSD, I had one installed at a shop just dealing with trans and diffs. I had the mopar LSD put in for 465.00 I would have put the Auburn in but like djr04 said it would not be covered in the warranty. But I have heard to that Aurburn does make a strong posi though. Call some shops up and see what they would charge to install one.
I have the Auburn and love it. Most shops will tell you the Mopar one has a problem with clips breaking. I would rather take a chance with the Auburn then have to return and wait for the dealer to fix the problems. Plus, changing a rear end out using a reputable shop wasn't expensive enough for me to have the dealer do it (They wanted $1400). The Auburn is a solid unit and for $624 installed was a risk well worth it to me. Bottom line, no matter which way you go, is an lsd is so much nicer than peg leggin' it...especially in a truck. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.
