Default Question About FlowMaster Muffler Install?

Got a question for you guys, and please, when you answer please state if you live on the West Coast/East Coast and what state.
I am just trying to get a feel, for the cost differences from state to state.
How much to install a FlowMaster super 40 Muffler, using the existing parts, no bends, no extra's?

I had mine installed for $140, but my install was different than most guys. I supplied the shop with the tips ($90 for both) and the muffler ($89 from summit). Then I had a new inlet pipe made, because the inlet on the stock muffler is 2.75", not 3" like everyone might think. So after he made the inlet pipe, then I had 2 outlets bent over the axle, and exit straight back on the passenger side. Check out the cardomain link at the bottom, and you can at least see the final product of where it exits. I also installed a 50 series, with the muffler as far back as possible, so it sits almost entirely under the bed. With the muffler set back this far, I get zero interior drone on the highway. Hope it helps, becuase my install was a little different than the normal.

East Coast here. I paid $300 for all new piping, dual exhaust ran all he way back and I supplied the Super 40s and the price included 2 stainless steel Silverline truck tips, so urs should be a lot heaper than that seeing ur using what's already there. Make sure u call Meineke if there's one in you area. They've done a few of my friend's trucks.

West Coast Here, cost at a muffler shop is about 40 bux to cut and weld in a new muffler, but for me, it didn't cost a thang because I did it myself.. Around here most muffler shops charge $20 bux a weld, so a single in single out muffler would be 40 bux.. SI/DO would be 60 and so on and so on...

Judging from what you guys paid, I guess paying someone a total of 1 man hour to install the muffler isn't to bad. (Maryland/D.C) area.
But one guy wanted to charge me ($186.00) to install the muffler. I thought this was a little excessive, and overpriced. I wonder why the West coast has so low installation prices? Is it because they have more people installing these types of mufflers?
It's the same work being performed, so why the big difference in price?

im in canada and it cost me around 160 bucks to get jsut the muffler installed. U gotta remember that it isnt just taking the muffler out and putting the new one in, they have to add a piece of pipe cause the muffler is shorter then a stock muffler, and make new exhaust hangers because the stock ones wont work, then plus the welding..... one of the reasons it costs more.

I'm not sure what my number ends with, but I've got the 40 series, exits at the corners of the bumper with 4.5 in tips. Sounds great. $325 for all new pipes, muffler, hangers and insallation. Near east coast-Alabama
