Why do you want to change the factory system, Don't you think Dodge knows what they are doing. ?I think the cold air intakes are a joke. I have two on my PT's and they don't help any. They do make the air intake sound louder but that's all.I replaced the one on my06 pT and my mileage stayed the same. Both are Chrome plated. In my 04 Dodge ThunderRoad I have a K/n Drop in. That didn't do anything to help the engine either, It's a Hemi. Where do you think the cold air will come from. ?What ever the outside temp. is that's what the air temp will be.

I'm threadjacking I know but I'm trying to get a hold of a stock air intake/filter for my 03 1500 Ram 5.7, anybody still got theirs laying around?

I'll will trade straight up for the cold air I have if your interested also or I'll just buy yours.

anything that is outside temp is way less than what the engine temp is... so yeah it is cooler air.

Just a few articles on them. For the record I almost always do exhaust and CAI's on my vehicles (especially on my GTO that had the heat bellowing LS1 under the hood).

Articles:

http://ezinearticles.com/?Why-Not-a-...take?&id=96089

Forum talking about them:

Not sure any of this will help, but I hope it does.

Silver Eagle, thanks for your input, Mopar/Dodge makes a after market Cold Air Intake system for Rams.
So the question is, why didn't they install it at the factory?
Had they installed it, I wouldn't be on this forum seeking advice on said subject................Hoo yaa
