Chip vs. Programmer
I'm looking to get either a performance chip, or programmer for my '03 Ram 4.7L (manual), and was wondering what people's experiences were with both/either? Which would you recommend? I've currently got a CAI and TBS installed, and have plans to do the exhaust in the next year or two.
Thanks,
Ken

Wow, thanks for the quick replies.
Do I understand correctly that the basic difference between say a performance chip and a programmer (such as superchips) is basically nil, other than the programmer is customizable?

Superchips will allow you to adjust for tire hight, raise RPM limiter, chose between 3 different program settings and scan your PCM for codes to help troubleshoot. It will also allow you to CLEAR the codes... so its a great tool to boot.
The chip just alters few sensor signals to trick the PCM into advancing the timing... The POWER WIRE does the same thing with better results for a fraction of the price. So again the CHIPs are worthless... look into a SC programmer if your in the market.
