Anybody have any opinions on the BG 44K fuel injector cleaner? Is it better than others on the market? Is it special order, or can i get it at my neighborhood parts shop?

 

You guys have got to be kidding me! Are you telling me, that none of you engine/motor modifiers has ever cleaned your fuel injectors?

 

If it is a fuel additive don't waste your time, I've posted on this before, they are not effective vs the cost. You need to take it to a shop that can directly connect the cleaner to the fuel supply rail to get results.

I know there is a lot of benefits of services like this one. I've never heard of this product, or had this service done on my own vehicle. How much do shops charge for such a service?

 

MY SHOP CHARGES $129.95 FOR THE INDUCTION CLEANING YOU USUALLY CAN'T GET 44K BY ITS SELF I T COMES IN A KIT FOR THE AIR INDUCTION SERVICE. OUR PRICE IS A LITTLE HIGH THE SHOP I USED TO WORK AT (THAT IS NOT A DEALERSHIP) WAS ONLY $99.95 JUST DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU GO USUALLY.

 

and I'll say that all in all that's a fair price for the service. I've seen some shops that will run a special on the service and rarely does it go below around 90 bucks. I had it done to my wifes' Ram Conversion van with a 5.2 in it and 66K miles...big difference after it was done, when my QC get that kind of mileage it'll be done as well.....

 

Does anybody know what exactly is done? what's the procedure? what parts are taken off and cleaned?

 

I work at a dealership, and I use BG44k at every other oil change. you just dump a can in a full gas tank.
It works better than a regular techron additive. You can get it at most dealership parts counters in my area(not just Dodge).
