Posi Trac
Positrac and limited slip diff are the same thing, positrac is chevys trademarked name for a limited slip diff.
"In the 1950's and 1960's many manufacturers began to apply brand names to their LSD units. The most famous of these was Chevrolet's "Positraction". Since then, Positraction (often shortened to "positrac" or merely "posi") has become a genericized trademark for LSDs.

If your only turning one tire then you either have an open diff or your clutch packs are worn or your clutch pack retainer clips are loose in the bottom of your diff.
Take your pick.
If you want to verify that your rear axle is indeed a limited slip then check the axle tube on the drivers side out near the leaf spring pearch and there should be a sticker wrapping around the tube that says "trac-lock". If it says that then you do have the limited slip diff. The next thing you need to do is take your truck in for service and find out if your retainer clips are sitting in the bottom of your diff like so many other peoples clips have been. It's a design flaw. I suggest upgrading to a Detroit truetrac if your looking for dual wheel traction with no fuss.
Have fun!

ok, now ive got a question to add to this thread. im second owner of 03 4.7 4x4 single cab. i found factory window sticker in the glove box, and under optional equipment, it says "axle- anti-spin differential " this doesnt sound like an LSD, i havent checked on the axle tube, this question just hit me reading this thread and its pouring rain outside. the truck acts like it has an LSD because both tires always spin, but is this some sort of traction control?
Yean, It's a factory LSD assuming nobody has changed it out. I would call it traction control though. It just directs engine torque from the wheel that slips to the one that grips. If you want to be 100% sure, pull your VIN and get a dealership to pull a build sheet.

Well it's raining here too... I looked at the window sticker that came on the truck when i bought it new a few minutes ago. It just say 3.55 axle ratio. Nothing about LSD.... You'd think it would be on there too. i guess i'll have to look at the axle tube
I found out the hard way too. If it isn't on the sticker you most likely don't have it. If you call a dealers parts department with your VIN # they can tell you if you have LSD within a matter of seconds. I ended up getting the Aburn. I love it. Also, like mentioned earlier, the stockers cluch pack retainer clips have a tendency to break. Good luck.
