lift for 04 quad cab 2wd
Hello
I want to put terra grappler 295/70/17 on my 04 2wd quad cab. The truck has the original 265/70/17 wheels on it. At this point I don't think these will fit in the front without a lift or leveling kit. I don't really want to lift it to much I don't go off road but love the look. What is everyone's opinion about a lift fora 2wd truck is it safe will I have any issues with front end later on. I use the truck everyday and don't want to go over board with it.I am told there is1.5 inch kit that is a "cone" to raise the front end or a 3" lift for the front. What do you recommend.

they will fit w/o a lift as long as you keep your stock rims. I have them on mine. I just put the 1.5" Daystar kit on the front and have since ordered new rims as well. But they fit fine before hand.
ok. i have a 3" body lift on mine and have 305/50r20 falkens. im gonna get Mickey Thompson ATZ's with a 2" leveling kit pretty soon. i love my 3" lift kit. rides great and fine. the 2" leveling kits going on soon and the mickey thompsons are gonna be 35x13.5 20's and should look fine. i dont know how big your tires will be. go to miata tire calculator to find out the specs.
well you have three options when looking at a leveling kit...you can use coil spring spacers...coil spring or leveling spindles... every one has its pros and cons but it's all personal preferance.
I have a 2wd with 6 inch lift. I have 34 inch tires on the stock rims and I have lost, not a whole lot, But a noticeable amount of my turning radius. I would recommend getting some new wheels with your new tires.
check out this guy on here, names redbeard. he has a DIY on the leveling kit. gonna do my own based on his directions. dont forget your gonna need coil spring compressor to do it your self!!

You will need a coil spring compressor and a pickle fork. I also added in 2 cases of Bud Light and a case of Miller Lite and 2 buddies and it took about 1.5 hrs at night with bad lighting.
