Default 04 Hemi Quad Cab Flowmaster Exhaust system

I'm a big fan of flowmaster, and purchased the american thunder system for Xmas. It sounded great, but mannnn the resonance in the cab was horrific under 75mph - couldn't hear myself think! I ended up welding the factory muffler back onbut used the flowmaster tailpipes with a custom made3" y pipe after the muffler. I86'd the resonantor. The whole job was a pain in the @$$since I initially welded the entire system up, cut it off, modified, fabricated, and mig'd it up again. Anyone have this system and have the same issue and anyone tried the seires 70 muffler??? or is that pointless? (I think I know the answer)

Does that kit run out the back? or sides? or...?

I don't have the kit, just a super 40 ran out the side, before the tire (regular cab) and its very pleasant on the interior.

the resonator may kill your sound a bit, but it could also be the cure to your resonance in the cab. Many people with the 06's have put resonators back into their exhaust setups to muffle the bad resonance in the cab they get from the mds kicking in.

The resonance was the 50 series muffler - I've use flowmaster mufflers since the early 90's and like the product, but come to realize that resonance from them is often the norm.So far, leaving the factory rear resonator off with the setup I have nowsounds pretty agreesive and is noticeablebut not over the top.I hated using the sawzall on anew exhaust system but....I can actually carry om a converation on my hands free or in the cab with my kids...

I had the 50 series Dual Exhaust on mine, wasn't loud enough, went to the 40 series... much better!

I'm trying to figure out which 50 series is best for the truck, the delta or the SUV? Has anyone compared the sound of them and is there much difference? I'll probably start with that and leave the rear resonator on and maybe remove it and add a nice tip later on.

i have th e40's on my truck si/do with no resonators. exits beihind rear tires. sound svery powerful and its loud the highwya incab resonance at first was real loud, but i got used to it and learned to like it. its hard to say what to go with because everyoen has a different experience with there exhaust setup so its hard to tell which is teh best one to go with.. maybe dynamat the cab of your truck or something.. i did my door panels because i just installed all new door speakers and it sounds so good. and the dynamat kept alot of the outside sounds outside haha.

I have the 50 series HD on my truck welded in place of the original muffler,I left the resonator on. The sound is mellow at idle and cruising speeds, but sounds awesome when I mash on it. I have zero cab resonence. Its the perfect set up for me,as I work odd hours, mostly at night ,and dont want to wake everyone in the neighborhood when i come home!
