my 06 ram 1500 with 3,500 miles on it has a bad drivers seat. I have owned it for 3 months. Recently I have been experiencing alot of back pain while drviving. Finally last night I moved the front seats all the way up and looked under both of them. The drivers seat has foam and other pieces coming through the bottom it's like completely colapsed. The passengers seat is fine though. I only weigh like 190lbs so I dont see how a brand new seat just fell apart like that.. I dont want the seat repaired I want it replaced becaused the stock seat cover is all stretched and deformed since there is no support in the bottom of the seat. Anyone ever had a problem like this??? Anyone think I will have a problem with warrenty coverage?? Any input would be appreciated before I contact the dealer tomorrow. Thanks.

 

Sounds like the same problem I had. My seat felt like it was twisting. They replaced the seat bottom and then after the 3rd trip said they found some loose retainers?? Anyway on the 4th trip i made them put a whole new seat from a new truck on the lot.

My 06 has some broken spacers so the seat rocked. They replaced the whole bottom half.

The seat does look like it's lost it's shape after only 6 months. Sure, I'm 6'2" & 300lbs, but the seat should hold up to that. It's a damn truck!? Most guys are big!

I'll take a lot at the foam from the bottom and let you know.

 

This is one of those problems with this truck. The Drivers seat of my 03, 05 and 06 all sway back and forth. This issue and the stalling issue has been around since at least 03.

 

Wow, never had an issue with my Hemi Ram (05). I even had the seats out and pulled the cloth off and put on the leather covers, everything looked good.

 

well at least I feel alittle better knowing it's not just my truck with this problem. I am definitely going to make them replace the whole seat bottom. The truck only has 3,500 miles on it and the seat fabric is now all wrinkled and stretched out because there is no support under it. I'll keep you all posted keep the comments coming every little bit helps!

Anyone know if the whole seat has to be replaced or if it's just the seat bottom?? not sure if they are separate pieces or not.

 

My 2005 does the same thing with the seat rocking/clicking, I guess dodge hasn't done a recall on the seats? Does the dealer give you any problems when you go in to have it fixed?

 

My '02 has that problem, but it's pretty much isolated to the outside edge where the previous owner got in and out. Also, my electric lumbar support doesn't work. Anyone here know where I can find a new driver's seat with the electric lumbar and power?
