Default 2006 ram drivers seat

I have been experiencing alot of back pain while driving recently. I finally got up under both of my front seats and realized that the drivers seat is completely collapsed. The truck is an 06 with 3,500 miles on it. I only weigh 190lbs and cant figure out why the hell the seat would just fall apart. Anyone have any input before I contact the dealer??

I had the same issue on a 04 F-150, Ford replaced it under warenty, I bet Ford Gm and Dodge are using the same supplyers for seat fabric cloth and foam.

Chrysler should cover the seat fabric/foam, if you let it go the stiching in the fabric will come undone and you will have a real mess..

Thats what im worried about. At this point it is stretching so much that I think the fabric is permenantly stretched to its limits. Its all wrinkled and folded over itself in places. The foam is hanging under the seat itself almost shredded. Kinda mad about it. I hope they will go ahead and replace the bottom portion of the seat itself becauseI think there is a spring or something missing from the seat. At 3,500 miles they should. I've never owned a brand new truck before so I've never dealt with the manufacturer waranties. That's why I was looking for advise.

Hmmm, I bought my 04 used in the spring and the seatwas very uncomfortable since I bought it. Should they be better? I assumed it was typical.
No lower back support at all, poor support for the butt and can't define what's wrong with upper back support but it isn't very good either.

Many of the Cummins Diesel Ram owners who drive large mileages per year (like car transporters & FEMA trailer movers) have complained about the recent Ram driver's seat.

I have seen posts where Ram owners have said the best seat to reduce back pain seems to have been in the 2001 models.

The dealership should replace your seat under warranty, but other owners have said that letting an local upholstery shop rebuild it with foam from a 'memory foam' pillow or mattress, similar to the Tempur-Pedic and built up 'custom' in the lumbar region to suit your needs results in a more comfortable seat.

thanks for all the links I 've been trying to find info on seats online with no luck. I havent called the dealer yet but I stopped by my local upolistry (spell check) shop after work and they said the seat foam was completely ripped apart and they couldnt tell without removing the seat but they said that there seemed to be a mechanical problem with the structure of the seat. like it is missing parts or something. They gave me a work order to take to the dealer to help out. unfortunately they do work for every dealer in the area, but wont do dodges for area dealers. The dodge dealers will not use them.... could it be because the dodge seats are crap and dodge knows it? any way the quote was for $70 to repair the whole seat with just foam, mechanical parts will be extra, so tomorrow I will have to call the dealer.. I thought buying a brand new truck would at least give me like 6 months of no problems.. wtf..

well I got my truck back from the dealer today. They ordered a new seat foam cushion. I was pissed because it is going to take like 2 weeks to get it and I have to drive a half hour away and drop it off again. but oh well will have to wait and see how it turns out..

Well I finally got the new seat in my truck about a week ago. Unfortunately it is already starting to fall apart again. At 5,000 miles on an 06 wtf...
Does anybody know if any other year, possibly 07 dodge seats are better? Or anyone have any experince with having an upolistry shop fix them up a bit??? Or any type of aftermarket seats you may have tried?
