Default Gear ?

I am looking around and trying to get a set of 4:56's for my truck. I am wondering when I get the gears and go down to a shop to get them put in will I still have a limited slip? Or will I loose the limited slip when I get new gears installed? Oh and what is a good price for install on a set of gears?

If you have LS now, you will have it after the swap as well.
Personally, I would go ahead and save up for a locker and get rid of that weak factory LS while your guy is in the rearend.
Prices will vary but about $750 to $1000 is the norm including parts which should run about $300 including a master install kit. That's why I suggest doing it all the first time around. I will save you $$ in the long run.

Yes you will still have the limited slip, replacing the gearing has no effect on the limited slip mechanics. I am getting mine installed on monday, and the price is $250.00 for my 4.56 gears.. CANT WAIT!
