Default Anyone install some additional lights behind the grill - or replace headlights

Just wondering on costs and how easy of a mod this is to do. Seems pretty practical and necessary. My 05 regular headlights seem pretty dim - I know others have said the same; not sure if i just need to change the headlight bulbs or actually install some additional bulbs? (doing the mod would be fun, but if its not necessary).

Thoughts,

TIA,

Boyd

My '04s headlights are the same. I first installed Silverstar bulbs. When they burned out in less than a year, the WalMart I stopped at had GE NightHawks that were a bit cheaper. So I put them in. I actually like them better than the Silverstars. Either is better than stock bulbs.

I also added a pair of Hella 500s behind the grille, and have them wired to pop on with the high beams. I also have them set through a switch so I can turn them off, all together, or turn them on independently.

I agree with the previous poster...the Silverstars suck, just get a set of GE Nighthawks which are better (IMO) and typically cheaper. That won't exactly solve your issue though, 'cuz the headlights on these things pretty much suck (my only complaint, I otherwise totaly love my truck). If you go to hidretro.com you can order some moded headlights that use projectors from a BMW that are likely better...my wifes acura has the same setup and her headlights are substantialy better...

Otherwise it wouldn't be hard to wire up some extra driving lights behind the grille..
