What do you think about the new Tundra? Honestly...

That a high performance intake outperforms the POS OEM part with the boggled up corrugated tube, that I don't doubt.
And I'm not arguing that those intakes are very nice looking, but whether the stupid cones do anything other than cost a lot of money remains to be seen.
While I can appreciate the bmw name being thrown around, I ordered two of those K&N's for my 2 bmw's from ebay, and they did absolutely nothing to improve the performance.
Since I accidentally ruined one of the OEM paper filter boxes, now I can't even find anything on ebay other than those K&N things, which I don't want!

Then there's the wash factor...
I'm sorry but I really don't want to wash an air filter and wait for it to dry out, but even if I did, I'd like some detailed instructions here...

How do I wash this thing?
Do I just take the garden hose to it, and if so, will that remove pollen and oil?
How about the washing machine, can I just throw it in there with my clothes? (assume I don't care).
Or do I wash it in the dish sink?
Nowhere on the package or the Internet does it tell me WHAT to do!!!
And I believe it makes a difference, not just in cleanliness, but sooner or later you wash it wrong and it is ruined.

As for me, I'd rather just replace the element, and since it's so dang expensive it sure would be nice IF they sold a pre-cleaner.
But, they don't.

So, I'm sticking to my generic round $25 assembly where I simply replace a $3 paper element about twice / year:

The styling may grow on some people, the power is good, especialy the tourqe peak coming in at under 4000 rpms.Remember tourqe gets you going and horse power pulls you thruogh.I would wait a couple of years to buy one because they need to get the bugs out,and get the price down. You know they are not going to budge off the MSRP for a year or so any way.Just my 2 pennies.

With all the hype, I drove a tundra.

Would I buy one, Hell freaking no, price in cdn $$$$ is so much more expensive than a Ford, gm or even nissan.

Is it fast, yes, ride and handeling, excellant with the 5.7, suspension in the 4x4 was awsome in off road.

This may be the biggest truck Toyota claims to build for north america, but its still small in size to a Ford or dodge 1/2 ton.

Looks down right suck, smart thing toyota has to do is not build a lexus version of the truck ( F-150 into a Lincolin ) and reduce the price, than it will out sell any one of the big three pick up brands.

I drove one for a weekend when I sold them at the beginning of this year. It is nice yet doesn't feel like a Truck...More like an Import SUV I guess I'm just a Dodge Guy

Actually I think they might be putting a mini CAT desiel motor in the future but like everyone's say it rides like a car so the suspension is super soft and the trucks super light so when you hook a heavy trailer to it its going to sag and in the wind and going down hills the trailerWILL control the truck.

I don't feel any envy when I see a Tundra. Sure, they get some nice hotrod parts from the factory but it's nothing I can't add to my truck. Dodge will fix the power gap soon so that'll become a moot point.

At least I know my tailgate won't buckle when I load a lawnmower into the bed!

Before settling on the Ram I seriously considered the new Tundra, had it not been for the lack of a manual I might have gone with the Toyota. From my perspective, a solid well designed truck, good drive train, comfortable interior, a lot of nice safety features standard. I think the Dodge exterior styling is second to none, to my eyes the Toyota is better looking than the Nissan or Ford, though the most "space age" of the bunch. Styling than can grow on you, though I had to get use to the look. I've had some nice compliments on my Ram, I've also had a couple non Toyota drivers express surpize that I went with a Ram and not "that cool new Tundra". Each to his own.
