OK guys, which antifreeze can I use in my 2002 Ram 1500 4.7L engine. The manual says to use Ethylene Glycol with corrosion inhibitors called HOAT. So do I use the old green stuff? what is the orange stuff sold at the stores?

I use Prestone DEX-COOL in everything I own. My truck, car, bike, 4 wheeler's, and even to winterize my jetski. Yes thats the orange stuff.

I strongly suggest you do NOT use Dex-Cool. It is not approved for DC vehicles. Instead, use, in decending preference, MOPAR, Zerex G05 Formula (Gold container), various long-life coolants such as Prestone, Peak, etc. that are NOT Dex-Cool clones. Also, if you don't use MOPAR, then try to flush out as much of the old coolant as possible with at least 3 or more drain, fill, runs (at least 15 minutes of driving) cycles using ONLY distilled water. If you use the MOPAR coolant, just drain the radiator and refill unless you can see obvious contamination. Then do the flush cycles as above.
