What dealership did you use that didn't give you hell about aftermarket parts? It may be worth the drive into Dallas for an easy-going place like that?
Dallas Dodge?

I'd say there was an underlying issue that caused this. I could see you haveing problems if you were running 22x12.50's, however if you were runnig say, 285's or 295's that shouldnt trash the axel and trans.

it sounds more like the tranny and axel were low on fluid.

I was under the impression that the manual transmission used for the 3.7L V6 was also the same used for the 4.7L V8... the Getrag 238 6-speed.

The 5.7L V8 is mated to the MB G56 for the Ram 2500 and up.

My thoughts are that the differential grenaded, and THEN the the transmission tore up as a result of the differential problem/lockup. I can't see the transmission going, THEN causing the differential to go.

THAT SUCKS BUT I WOULD STILL CHANGE THE GEARS OUT IN THE DIFF. DOING THAT MIGHT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS.

I AM ACTUALLY IN A SIMILAR SITUATION. MY TRANNY WENT OUT IN MY 02 RAM IT IS AN AUTOMATIC. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK THE LIFT WAS ALREADY ON IT AND EVEN KNOWING THIS THE DEALER SOLD ME AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND NOW THE WARRANTY COMPANY DOESENT WANT TO FIX THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS MODIFIED EVEN THOUGH I BOUGHT IT LIKE THAT. NOW IAM IN A BATTLE WITH THE DEALER AND THEY ARE SAYING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO FIX MY TRUCK DO TO " GOODWILL " AND REFUND THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I BOUGHT (about $2600). SO A WORD OF ADVICE IS IF YOU BUY A LIFTED TRUCK FROM A DEALERSHIP MAKE SURE AS TO FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE A WARRANTY TO COVER IT OR YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH.

Got it back.. They replaced the rear diff, and put a stronger clutch in also.(feels weird to break in a clutch by the way!! grabs veryyy weird) He said hopefully it doesn't happen again, but if it does they don't think it will be covered. I would get new gears in it, but I can't afford it still.

Due to the Magnesson Moss warranty act they have to repair the Truck.
Chips and Tires/Wheels will not effect the warranty as long as they are the proper type etc.
Changing a cam shaft or gears will effect the warranty on those parts involved.
Same thing with changing you own oil, they cant deny you for that either as long as you keep receipts showing you performed them at the proper intervals.
It is best to remove a chip or programmer before service mainly to keep from having to send your programmer back to Superchips to be unlocked if the factory updates your PCM software on your truck.
