How would I go about opening up the steering column in my 2004 ram 2500 quad cab. The heater fan turns on and off as I adjust the steering wheel posistion.

 

you may not need to open the colunm. check the ignition switch at the botom of the colunm as you change the steering position you may be changing the switch from run to off or to start.does the radio also go off?

 

It only affects the heater fan and also does it from vibration or actual steering I'm not sure wich. I just know that when I use the adjustable steering when the fan shuts off it always comes back on and if I leave it alone it doesn't turn back on all of the time until I move the colum.

 

IF IT ONLY AFFECTS THE HEATER FAN THEN THE PROBLEM MAY BE IN THE FAN SWITCH OR THE PLUG OR WIREING. THE COLUM WILL SHUT OFF EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME. MAY JUST BE HAPPINING WHEN YOU TURN.

 

nope it's likely a loose or broken wire. I just need to know how to get into the steering column.

 

take the steering wheel off work your way down there no wires IN the colum for the accesories side of the switch. switch is at the bottom of the colum
