HELP ASAP
Im in the middle of putting plugs in my Ram. Working on the #5 cylinder plug with coil pack. Got the old one out. You have to put the plug in the socket and slide it in then piece togehter extension and ratchet. Well when I slide the socket with the plug in it down in there some how it pushed the plug up threw the other end to where I cant get the extension in. Help me How do I get the socket and plug out of there?
You could try to get one of those grabber things (has a push button on top and looks like a cable, when you push the button three small "claws" come out the other end)....I know it's not the tecnical term but...else a magnet on a string may work...
Yea Ive got one of those tried that didnt work. Tried a little crafstman swivel magnet and it didnt have enough *** to pull it outta there. I can feel the socket its loose and will wiggle around slightly but the plug feel solid like its threaded in a few threads or so. Im thinking about taking the head off. Anybody?
You can try this - may work, it helps me to pull a spark plug socket off but not when the plug is through the 3/8 socket drive.
Cut a coat hanger and get about 12 inches of straight coat-hanger. With a needle-nose pliers bend the one end 90 degrees so there's about 1/8 of an inch of "hook" (90 degrees to the rest of it). See if you can edge that in the 3/8 socket drive enough to hook the socket itself. and pull firmly, but gently.

next time you do change the plugs, get a swivel head plug socket.
that with a 6" extension is perfect. You don't have to take them apart to insert it in the plug well, then attach the ratchet--viola' you're done. I have one made by craftsman--so they aren't hard to find.

NEXT TIME PUT THE HEAD OF THE PLUG INTO A RUBBER HOSE LONG ENOUGH TO START THREADING THE PLUG IN...
REMOVE THE HOSE THEN PUT THE SOCKET ON IT..........
