Just got a 2007 Ram Hemi
Hey, Just got her this afternoon and already thinking about upgrades.
I guess Ill start with exhaust and could use some suggestions. I dont think I wanna do a dual set up at this time. Single will be ok. I want a nice rumble to the Hemi but not loud. Im sure you guys have more experience with this sorta thing. I went to Flowmasters websight and the 50 series sounded nice. Any other recommendations?
Another question, will a change in muffler effect gas mileage real bad? and how will it sound when MDS kicks in?
I wanna keep the price reasonable on this. Something that sounds nice but wont break the bank.
Thanks, Kane

I have posted about this a few times so I will make it short. PersonallyI don't like flowmaster, they restrict the flow too much and when the mds kicks in I have heard it sounds horrible. I have an aero turbine at3030 muffler on my truck and I had the second resonator removed. Sounds amazing but like you I didn't want it too loud. The mds sound is not bad at all. Also, cruising at 75 on the freeway there is very little in cab resonance. Check out aero turbine mufflers. they are awesome and let the air flow better than the stock system or the flowmaster. Other good mods are a cold air intake with ram air (I have a volant and love it) and superchips (amazing mod, best mod too) other than that you will void your warranty or have to wait for headers for your truck to come out. There are barely any headers for the 06 right now so I have to wait as well.
My mileage is normally pretty bad as I drive my truck like it has a hemi haha but everyone I have talked too has said that their mileage has stayed constant or gotten better in that your truck is moving air easier and not working as hard to do so. You will hear nothing but good about the superchips (do a simple search and it will pull up 1 million threads on it) and most the name brand cold air intakes are the same so just go with which ever ever one appeases your needs and wallet best. I think all around I gained about 2 mpg from all that stuff, I get asked that alot but being that i'm 19 I drive my truck like I stole it so i'm not the best person to ask when it comes to mpg.
