Default soot in the pipes?

Well I have an 06 hemi ram with a volant CAI, superchips and an aero turbine muffler. I noticed the other day that my exhaust looks pretty damn dirty. Is this normal? Should the inside of my exhaust look dirty and black? If so, then i'm good. If not, what the hell am I doing wrong?

exhaust is unburnt fuel; hydrocarbons. its normal for the inside of your pipes and/or tips a lil sooty.

How do you like the Volant? I'm looking into buying one.

My experience with intakes/exhausts is the increased airflow results in more fuel being used. Some goes unburned.

honestly, I love the volant. I love the whole box design and I love the ram air that hooks up to my fog light hole. If you have fog lights there are other options for ram air. This intake was worth the money.

Do you get a good throaty sound from it? Compared to stock? Thanks man, I've been debating intakes for a while, and want to keep the Hemi hat.

yes I did. That's one of the good things about volant compared to others. The roar it produces.
