Default face plate around radio

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram Daytona Does any one know how to remove the face plate on the dash around the radio without damaging the face plate?

Default RE: face plate around radio

I just changed out the factory radio on my 2005 Ram today. I used theinstructions from the factory service manual.

The whole center section of the instrument panel comes off, not just the area around the radio and heater controls. There is a screw locatedjust abovethe hook on the dash on the passenger side of the instrument panel. Unscrew that. Open the cup holder and the ash tray. Grabthe lower corner of the center section near either the cup holder or ash tray and pull gently. The entire center section will pop out. Unplug the connectors on thecenter sectionand lay it aside. Change the radio and reinstall in the reverse order.

Default Forgot something.

You should remove the panel below the steering wheel before you pull the center section out (it covers up the lower left corner of the center section).Remove the two screws on the lower edge of the panel. Then pull out the top of the panel and lay it aside. Reinstall in reverse.
