2007 Ram 1500 5.7L QC Laramie Stero Question
I have a 2007 QC 1500 Laramie with the 6-disc cd/mp3 sat radio in it with the 7 speaker Infinity system.Does anyone know if this unit has factory RCA pre-outs? I was told at the dealer that some models had them but I wasnt sure. I also read that some of the new car makers were putting them in.
And if so, does anyone know how the radio portion of the dash comes apart. I just traded in my 05 for this truck and I knew how it came apart in the 05. I havent had time to explore how this one comes apart.
Thanks

RE: 2007 Ram 1500 5.7L QC Laramie Stero Question
no, not an AUX input, I mean a RCA output. For adding additional amps to the system. I have a sub box for under the rear seat that I took out of my 2005. I want to put it and my amp in my 2007 and still use the factory head unit and speakers

I don't believe that it does. I've never had one of those head units out so your best bet is to pull it outta the dash and take a looksee. From what i've heard from various ppl with the infinity system that went to replace the head unit they had to get a special harness not just one that adapts to the vehicle but one that takes the amplifier into consideration in the factory harness.

RE: 2007 Ram 1500 5.7L QC Laramie Stero Question
If your truck is an automatic, with your cupholders in the down position, there are two screws on the underside of the dash. Take those out and that entire bezel will pop out, it isa VERY tight fit, heat &air controls and everything will pop out. There is not alot of slack in the wire so be sure to unplug all the harnesses. As for your question about the RCA output, I am pretty sure that it doesnt have them, there are adapters that you can buy to allow you to run another amp, they generally cost around $20. However be very careful what you do with that system because it is factory amplified and can pretty easily be toasted. Good luck hope all that helped.
