Default Stock security HELP!!!!!

This morning when I went out to start my truck the remote was not working. First thought the battery was dead. So I used the key and opened the door. Then I noticed the red light on the dash was blinking. I have never seen this light before. I thought all I had was keyless entry. I called the dealer and ran down what I had over the phone and they said they would have to look at it, and all trucks have a security system. Well needles to say I don't want to pay for a town and give the dealer any unneccessary money. I changed the batteries in the remote, nothing. I disconnected the negative side of the battery for 20 minutes and reconnected it, nothing, and the light is still blinking.

Any help guys would be greatly appreciated, I need my truck to go to work tonight.

Thanks, Nick

When the system was installed, I am sure that there was a kill swith button placed under the steering wheel. Maybe this was activated accidentally. Have you tried Pushing/Switching the switch while at the same time placing the key in the ignition?

Does the truck start or is it completely dead? Does the alarm go off when you open the door or re connect the battery? Does the second remote (they usually give you 2)work?

No second remote.

Alarm does not go off. Never has. I have left the spare key at home for my wife before. She has unlocked the door with the key and driven the truck no problem.

I have disconnected the negative and nothing happened. No sound when I reconnected it or anything. The door swithces on the door panel do not function either.

I have never had any problems before. I thought I only had keyless entry.

here is a long shot but i think worth a try. autozone and kragen sell spare remotes. maybe the remote decided to stop working all together. i think spares from autozone are only $20. and if it doesnt work you can return it. good luck.

I have already changed the batteries in the old one. How do I program the new one?

I dont think the remote is the problem. From my experience with my factory alarm when ever I would manualy open the door the alarm would go off andwhen ever I disconnected the battery the alarm would go off. I think the problem is in the actual system in the truck. Take your owners manual out and look up which fuse controls the alarm and check it to make sure its not fried. Also check the fuse that controls your locks and windows as well.

Would the light still flash if the fuse is blown? When I do get it working is there anyway to take this crap off my truck?
