Ok guys, sorry to ask a question that's been covered so numerous times on here already... but I have to because the answer is still unclear. I want to know if 35's will fit on a stock 17 inch rim under a stock '05 1/2 ton4x4 qc. I've done the torsion bars, and to me I would think they should fit. I've just read through about 15 pages of questions on the same topic via the search bar, but the answers are all over the board. Some people are saying 285's are as big as you can go, some say 305's and some are saying that they run the 315's with no problems. Then there are a ton of people saying, "I've got 285 or 305's and I'm sure I could have gone bigger". Well that's not proof that they'll fit.. that's just an assumption. Any definate answers out there??

 

Sure, you can run 285, 305, or 315's, but the real tricky part is figuring out which one is going to work best for you when you start flexing your axles. I know that 315's will rub as my friends do all the time. 285's I hear don't, and 305 aren't supposed to either. Go have some check fit on your truck before you buy and see if the shop you take it to will A.) let you flex test it off road, or B.) use a jack to flex it out.

 

Also take into consideration your gearing and how the larger tires will affect that.....I learned the hard way that just a few sizes bigger tire, even though it'll fit, can really **** you off when you notice your acceleration and potential towing capacity have dimished......(my truck is in getting re-geared as I type this....always more $$$)....

 

I HAVE AN 02 QC WITH A PRO COMP 4.5" LIFT AND PRO COMP SAYS THE BIGGEST TIRE YOU CAN RUN WITH THIS LIFT IS 35". MY PROBLEM IS I HAVE SEEN OTHER RAMS WITH THE SAME LIFT RUNNING 37" AND 38" TIRES AND I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW THEY HAVE NO BODY LIFTS EITHER. SO I UNDERSTAND THE CONFUSION YOU ARE GOING THROUGH.

 

ALSO TO FIGURE OUT THE TIRE SIZE ALL YOU REALLY NEED TO DO IS MEASURE HOW TALL FOR EXAMPLE A 315 TIRE IS. BETWEEN A 32 INCH AND A 35 INCH TIRE. MEASURE HOW FAR YOUR SUSPENISON ARTICULATES (THIS IS THE UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT) IF YOU CAN FIT A 33 INCH TIRE BUT THE CLEARANCE FROM THE TOP OF THE TIRE TO THE INNER FENDER IS 3 INCHES BUT YOUR SUSPENSION TRAVELS 4 INCHES THEN IT IS GOING TO RUB WHEN YOU ARTICULATE.

 

You should be able to run 35's with no problem. I have the same set-up with 35's and absolutly no rubbing. I did have to pull back the inner fender well on the drivers side a bit, but other than that I have a lot of clearance.

 

i have 310's on my 22s and fit fine, no rubbing at all and its lowerd

35's will fit. Just make sure you have the right backspacing on your rims, otherwise they will rub on hard turns, on the front plastic.
