2007 quad 4.7 review
My daughters Caliber is in the shop for a water leak,I was given a demo '07 quad 4.7L truck as a loaner,heres what I think about it;
First thing that grabs the eye is the quality of the paint(patriot blue),fit and finish,and the racey lines we all have come to expect,no big shock there!The only thing I dont like is the tail lights,looks like Dodge was trying to immitate ricer hot rod lights.The interior is nothing fancy on this model(SLT) but it is comfortable and functional with lots of cubby holes to stash goodies in.And shock of all shocks,it has an ash tray for those politically incorrect enough to require one.This truck is a quad cab,not the mega cab,so the back seat is somewhat small for full size adults,but still of sufficient size to permit short in town trips with no discomfort.
The biggest shock is under the hood,I dont know what Dodge did,but this 4.7L runs wonderfully! Tons of power on demand,smooth accelerationplenty of torque to cruise comfortably.I have a friend with an '04 4.7L and his is constantly shifting up and down at highway speeds.Not this '07It gets in 5th and stays there.I have had this truck for about a week now and fuel milage is about 18 average city/highway.I drive a bit more highway than city,but not a whole lot.
Over all this is a great truck,I am not going to give up my Hemi anytime soon,but as far as a family vehicle goes,this would be a great truck for a family.Fair gas mileage,attractive styling,and plenty of power to do most jobs,It gets a big thumbs up from this HEMI guy!

RE: 2007 quad 4.7 review
I was also given an 07 QC as a loaner when the dealership put the leather in my '06 QC Hemi. While it didn't have the kick that the Hemi has, it was still quick. It had the 3.92 limited slip and 20's on it. It sounded better than my MDS hemi in stock form. The jury is still out (for me at least) on a dual exhaust system for the MDS. I imagine that it sounds like crap when the system is engaged. I think the 4.7 is a nise solid package. It's just not in the same ballpark as the Hemi.
